Our Beginner Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh, India, welcomes newcomers and anyone who has felt excluded from yoga in the past for various reasons, such as being unfit, inflexible, limited by health concerns, or simply because of their age.  But traditionally, yoga has never discriminated against individuals.  Nature does not recognise any divisions amongst people – it is human perception that creates these barriers.

Morning practice: Hum-Sa kriya at the Vedic Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat Centre

We are the best Beginner Yoga Retreat program for a number of reasons:

  1. We offer ancient teachings from the Himalayan tradition for raising our consciousness, which have been tested through the ages and handed down to all humans without any discrimination.
  2. Our yoga program is not a one-size-fits-all approach – it is tailored to individual requirements to ensure that every student is able to find their inner balance and harmony.
  3. We keep class sizes small so that every individual can receive the personal attention they need to reach their optimal potential from the program.
  4. We are located in the foothills of the Himalayas on the banks of the sacred river Ganga, and this provides the appropriate atmosphere for connecting to your inner nature.
  5. Our yoga program is connected to our Ayurveda treatment centre, where you can receive healing therapy from our Ayurveda specialists (at additional cost).
  6. Our senior teacher has 21 years experience and is a dedicated yoga practitioner.
  7. Our program guides you in establishing a daily yoga and meditation routine so that you can experience overall well-being.

Morning practice: Anahata kriya at the Vedic Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat Centre

Our Beginner Yoga Retreat program is both practical (yoga practice) and theoretic (discussions of yoga philosophy and its practical application in everyday life).  

The specific practices offered will help you deepen your awareness, provide tools for balancing your emotions, and create an inner sanctuary through the following methods:

  1. Asana (Posture)
  2. Pranayama (Breathing)
  3. Yoga Nidra (Relaxation)
  4. Mantra (sound meditation/chanting, healing and bringing your attention into the present)
  5. Kundalini Kriya (foundation practices in which you become aware of your life force in order to awaken the inner consciousness)
  6. Nada yoga (tuning your awareness through sound and vibration to induce a meditative state)
  7. Meditation (Vedic Dhyan)
  8. Conscious walks

The Beginner Yoga Retreat includes the following:

  1. Accommodation – ashram-style living in modern rooms, each with an attached bathroom. The room can be either separate or shared, standard or deluxe, according to request or room availability.
  2. Three Ayurvedic meals per day.
  3. Use of the Centre’s Wi-Fi.
  4. The opportunity to transform your life and become a part of a Vedic yoga community comprised of students from around the world.
  5. Individual consultation and guidance from teachers to help you customise your practice, find inspiration, and make lifestyle choices that heal and empower you at every level.

The prices do not include airfare, transfers to and from the Centre, tips, any excursions during the course, or personal items.
