Himalayan Sacred Walk To Badrinath
(Part of a 14 day Retreat at the VYC)

“For thousands of years, the Himalayas have been charged with spiritual vibrations.  A journey to the Himalayas brings inner awakening …”

This amazing trek is part of a 14-day retreat at the Vedic Yoga Centre, which gives you the opportunity to practice yoga with us and enjoy Ayurvedic treatments, combined with a three-day expedition to Guptakashi and Badrinath.  The trek requires a high degree of physical and spiritual discipline, so those wishing to join us on this sacred walk must be willing to prepare themselves for the experience.  Please see all the requirements on our General Information on Travel Programs.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THIS PILGRIMAGE IS A JOURNEY OF PURIFICATION AND AUSTERITY.  PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE ATTITUDE SO THAT THEY CAN ADJUST TO COLD CLIMATES AND SIMPLE ACCOMMODATION.  AS PART OF THE AUSTERITY, YOU MAY BE WITHOUT COMFORT FACILITIES SUCH AS HOT WATER OR ELECTRICITY, ETC. IN A VERY COLD CLIMATE.

  1. Anyone can join this trek who is physically fit enough to walk the distances in the high altitudes.
  2. You should have a desire to have a spiritual experience rather than one of a tourist.
  3. Your preparations should include the information set out in the General Information on Travel Programs.
