Master Level Yoga Course (2000 hour)
This Master Level Course is a Continuing Education program for sincere yoga practitioners
It consists of a series of Modules.
Module 1 is presented here, and the remaining modules will be added over time.
All modules are a combination of different aspects of yoga practices such as deeper hatha yoga, raja yoga, kriya yoga, swara yoga, mantra yoga and nada yoga, and their practical role in building a bridge between your physical, mental and spiritual life. They also include aspects of Ayurveda and yoga as therapeutic tools.
Different philosophies and scriptures will also be discussed which demonstrate how to apply these philosophies in your everyday life.
Most of the modules will be available online as well as on site in Rishikesh.
This course is aimed at those who are seeking traditional teaching for application to modern times, and to help, inspire and motivate others who are at different stages in their yogic path.
Who is eligible?
This course is open to all those who have completed an RYT 200, 300 or 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course.
Only those practitioners who are willing to dedicate a minimum of 200 hours of personal practice for each module which revolves around the content of that module, should consider applying. These personal practices have to be done systematically (by establishing a set time for the practice each day, and being dedicated to upholding that time as much as possible, according to your circumstances).
You should only apply for the next module once you have completed these 200 hours of practice.
Curriculum
MODULE 1 – 14 DAYS
The focus of this module is to develop inner clarity through the practices of stillness. The particular combination of the subjects teaches yoga practitioners how to combine the sciences of yoga and Ayurveda in day to day life, and how to use this knowledge to help others.
Deeper practices of hatha yoga – asana, pranayama and mudra practices.
Philosophy – Baghavad Gita, especially Chapters 3 & 4 (which teaches you how to develop your inner trust, how to stand by your convictions, and how to be spontaneous with your life). It also helps practitioners learn how to face their fears, and to transcend them.
Samyak kriya – deeper Himalayan kundalini awareness practices.
Tattva Shuddhi – the five elements of existence, how to find the balance between them, and their overall connections to our holistic health.
Swara yoga – its practical application, and its holistic connection to our physical/mental health.
Collective wisdom – how to develop individual awareness towards the experience of the collective wisdom which resides in each person – this is essentially the path of yoga.
Ayurveda –
its application,
its origin, and
its role in building a practical holistic life, e.g. understanding the nature of the body and developing an appropriate diet using specific herbs and spices.
Personal practice – after completing this module, you are required to dedicate a minimum of 200 hours of personal practice which revolves around the content of the module. You should establish a set time for the practice each day, and be dedicated to upholding that time as much as possible, according to your circumstances.

Our senior yoga teacher, Shailendra Singh Negi, was born and raised in the holy city of Rishikesh, India, on the banks of the holy river Ganga at the foot of the Himalayas.
Through his initial experiences with the Shivananda Ashram in Rishikesh, Shailendra became inspired to dedicate his life to walking the yogic path.
He earned his first one-year diploma at the Shukhdevanand Yoga and Nature Cure College in Rishikesh, followed by studies at the Gurukul University in Haridwar, where he successfully attained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Consciousness and Yogic Science. In 2007 he founded the Vedic Yoga Centre as a unit of the Vedic Yoga Trust in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh and began his true calling as a yoga teacher. His qualifications include classical yoga therapy, yoga philosophy, nutrition, naturopathy and Ayurveda therapy.
Shailendra’s motivation is to inspire his students to take responsibility for their own spiritual journey and take conscious steps for their overall health and well-being. He does not practice or teach one specific style of yoga; nor does he set out to impress; his aim is to pass on the ways in which genuine seekers of peace and tranquility can achieve this much sought after goal, through determination and dedicated practice.
The content of his spontaneous philosophy classes cannot be read in books, as his teachings are integrated from his own personal experience as well as communing with sages whose knowledge has been passed down through generations from the traditional Vedic scriptures.
The main focus of Shailendra’s teachings is to make us aware of our inner spiritual roots, and how to reach them through the practices of asana (movements and postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), samyak kriya (yoga practice to gain awareness of one’s inner life-force), meditation, Ayurvedic therapy, and mantra chanting.
Shailendra teaches that while these different practices work in alternative ways, the purpose of each one is the same – to help us awaken our inner consciousness and attain stillness so that we can live mindfully, in the moment, and attune ourselves to our inner world. Shailendra’s teachings are also devotionally oriented, educating us in learning how to serve, love and surrender – three characteristics of a truly yogic lifestyle.
Students come to Shailendra not just from all over India but from many other parts of the world, including China, Taiwan, Israel, Canada, USA, Russia, Australia, and also from various European, Eastern European and some African countries.
Shailendra travels the world throughout the year (when he is able) to share his traditional style of yoga, but he is based at the Vedic Yoga Centre for much of the time and holds daily yoga classes there.
Come and be inspired by his experience.
