Daily yoga practice
Every day of your retreat begins with an early morning yoga practice. One of the unique features of the Vedic Yoga Centre is the inclusion of all aspects of yoga so that you can find the particular practices that lead you to connect with your inner self. These include:
We cater to all levels of practitioners, offering not only beginner yoga classes but also programs for the more experienced. The asanas (postures) are designed to awaken the body and release tension, but more importantly, to integrate the body with the mind. Our focus is on breath awareness to connect you with the Source of your life, and our experienced teachers guide you through sequences that cover both beginner yoga poses and the more advanced.
Our yoga classes are for everyone. In our yoga basics for beginners, we demonstrate how to use external supports (such as bricks and straps) and posture modifications to help practitioners experience inner harmony. More experienced students can deepen their practice with greater inner awareness by viewing the movements of their asana as part of their meditation.
You can discuss any physical limitations or concerns with your teacher, who will happily modify your program as required.
Meditation and Mindfulness
At our Centre, we offer the traditional method of Vedic Dhyan meditation, which incorporates breath awareness, mantra awareness, and silence. Our experienced teachers will lead you through a process that helps to quieten your mind and enhance your inner peace, allowing you to achieve a deeper connection with yourself. We emphasise mindfulness meditation courses for beginners so that practitioners can prepare for the deeper aspects of this healing practice. All sessions teach the value of self-reflection and experiencing tranquillity, which you can practice at home after your experience here at the retreat.
Ayurveda holistic wellness retreat – detox (Panchakarma)
Another unique feature at the Vedic Yoga Centre is our ability to offer a combination of yoga and Ayurveda retreats. Our Panchakarma program is a residential retreat that ensures that you can relax completely after your treatments. In this way, you can fully experience the total healing effects of this traditional Hindu medicinal science that balances the body’s energies through diet, lifestyle, and therapeutic practices.
